Is The 992 GT3 Touring The Ultimate Porsche Road Car?

We also bring along a GT4 RS to find out

In a society where the word “compromise” tends to connote negatively, the 992 GT3 Touring proves that there’s nuance in beautiful things and that nuance is beautiful in and of itself. Be that as it may, the GT3 Touring is deliberately understated and subsequently underrated—perfectly nuanced, as more things should be. Afterall, it’s the granular thinking behind the creation of the Touring model which has ultimately removed it from any legitimate criticism.

There’s a bold distinction between an all-rounder and an all-star, with the former implying more of a utilitarian/support role, and the latter being the best-in-class frontman. I’m convinced, after driving the GT3 Touring, that it’s definitely the latter. No, I’m not saying that it’s the car you should pick if lap times matter—there’s no better Porsche road car for that than the 992 GT3 RS at the moment, and even the regular GT3 has got it pipped there.
