First EV Porsche Club Forges Ahead

73 All-electric Porsches tour Italy

Registro Italiano E-motion is the world’s first Porsche Club for all-electric sports cars. One weekend in September, 131 participants and 73 electric vehicles set out on the club’s first-ever road trip – to Hans-Peter Porsche’s Traumwerk museum just outside of Salzburg – launching a new era of Porsche community.

Low on the horizon, the late-summer sun bathes the hills of the Franciacorta wine region in soft light as a black Taycan sweeps toward the Franciacorta Porsche Experience Center. The 60-hectare complex features multiple handling tracks, 29 garages, fast-charging stations, and a customer center.

Andrea Siviero, IT specialist and spokesperson for the Registro Italiano E-motion Porsche Club, steps out of his Taycan GTS Sport Turismo. The center feels like home: the club signed its founding charter here in May. Today, it’s the starting point for the club’s first official road trip – Porsche E-motion goes to Traumwerk. One hundred thirty-one participants arrive in 73 electric Porsche models, including 42 Taycan and 31 Macan in various specifications, from rear-wheel drive to Turbo S and Turbo GT versions. Six cars showcase Paint to Sample colors, and two Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package compete in Porsche Italia’s Taycan Rush Championships. For now, they join the convoy bound for Austria.

The Porsche Club origins

During a coffee stop, Siviero recalls how the club began in 2021, when early Taycan owners formed a group chat to discuss software and charging. Led by long-time Porsche enthusiast Massimo Piccinno, the group quickly grew from a handful of members to 60. The idea of forming an official all-electric Porsche Club gained traction and received support from Porsche Italia.

Now on their first road trip, the convoy travels north through Lombardy toward South Tyrol. Vineyards, cornfields, castles, and finally the Dolomites frame the journey. In Brixen, the group stops for lunch and charging. With 73 vehicles to power, Porsche deploys two mobile turbo charging units, each delivering 2.1 MWh and supplying 10 fast chargers at up to 280 kW. Charging assistants coordinate vehicle rotation to keep the convoy on schedule.

Socializing during the charging break

The break reveals the club’s diversity: entrepreneurs, creatives, families, and students share a passion for electric Porsche sports cars. Nine-month-old Edoardo is the youngest participant. President Massimo Piccinno describes the club as a family united by innovation and open-mindedness. Andrea Gruppach, President of the Italian Porsche Club association, notes the strong presence of young members and families. Unlike traditional clubs focused on speed, this group values relaxed driving and social connection – even during charging stops.

Through the Alps

Though departure is delayed by lively conversations, the next stage delivers stunning Alpine roads. The route climbs to the Brenner Pass and continues toward Germany, passing Lake Chiemsee and the Chiemgau Alps before reaching Salzburg. The evening ends with laughter, discussion, and a celebratory toast.

Arrival at Traumwerk

On Sunday, the group visits Hans-Peter Porsche Traumwerk near Salzburg. Founder Hans-Peter Porsche personally greets participants. Among them is cinematographer Daniele Massaccesi, who transitioned from diesel to electric Porsche models, inspired by the brand’s forward-looking approach. Giulio Tedesco, a 28-year-old content creator, attends in a Taycan Turbo GT with Weissach package and calls the museum visit a highlight of the trip. Meeting a member of the Porsche family, he says, felt like realizing a dream. The tour concludes with a group photo in front of Traumwerk.

An interactive world with panoramic views

Founded in 2015 by Hans-Peter Porsche, Traumwerk in Anger, Upper Bavaria, offers a vast model railway exhibit, a historic tin toy collection, classic cars, and a family-friendly theme park. Celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2025, the museum aims to become a “home for clubs” – a gathering place for enthusiasts of technology, history, and design.
