This 1971 Porsche 911S coupe was purchased by comedian Jerry Seinfeld in 2008 and subsequently shipped to RUF in Pfaffenhausen, Germany, where it spent the next three years being refurbished and modified. A twin-plug 3.4L flat-six with individual throttle bodies and electronic fuel injection was installed along with a six-speed manual transaxle, and the chassis was reinforced and outfitted with a RUF Bilstein suspension, a G50 rear torsion tube, and 930 disc brakes.

Flared rear wheel arches were added to the body before a repaint in Gemini Blue Metallic, while the interior was redone with Pepita and leather upholstery as well as lightweight door panels. Other highlights include a RUF exhaust system, upgraded oil coolers, Fuchs 15” wheels, a power-operated sunroof, H4 headlights, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM radio. This RUF-modified 911S is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean California title in the name of the owner’s LLC.

Chassis 9111300545 left the factory finished in Gemini Blue Metallic, and it was sold new through Bob Hagestad Porsche-Audi of Denver, Colorado. It remained with the family of the original owner until 1999, according to the seller. After Seinfeld’s acquisition, work performed at RUF involved stripping and repairing the body, reinforcing the chassis, and adding flared rear wheel arches before the car was repainted in its original color.

Details include a power-operated sunroof, H4 headlights, Euro-style taillights, and a left-side mirror.

Fuchs 15×7” front and 15×8” rear wheels have satin black recesses, and 185/70 and 215/60 Pirelli Cinturato CN36 tires were mounted in 2023. A RUF Bilstein suspension kit was installed in addition to a G50-specification rear torsion tube and 930-specification disc brakes with drilled rotors and RUF-branded calipers.

The 3.4-liter flat-six features a twin-plug ignition setup, electronic fuel injection, individual throttle bodies with red velocity stacks, and a RUF exhaust system. The cooling system is said to have been upgraded with thermostat-controlled RSR-specification oil coolers.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a custom six-speed manual transaxle with a hydraulic clutch assembly.

The rear seats have been removed, and the reclining sport seats are trimmed in black leather with Pepita cloth inserts. Lightweight door panels have been installed, and a Blaupunkt push-button AM/FM radio remains in the factory location. A cutoff switch has been mounted below the dash, and the pedal set has been replaced.

The four-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a RUF-branded 10k-rpm tachometer flanked by VDO instrumentation consisting of a 180-mph speedometer, a clock, and combination gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 2,300 miles, which represents the distance driven since the build was completed.

A strut tower brace has been added to the front cargo area, and an Optima Red Top battery has been relocated to the smuggler’s box.

Photos taken at various stages of the RUF build are provided in the gallery along with an itemized invoice totaling €257,883.14.
