Henry Catchpole from Carfection drives the 991.2 Porsche 911 GT3 RS on both public roads and the historic, long-forgotten Sudschleife circuit, a predecessor to the Nordschleife. The featured examples is finished in Guards Red with eye-catching decals and a prominent rear wing.

Unlike a full-track-spec RS, this car has comfort-focused features like Alcantara-covered leather, reversing camera, and no roll cage. Its naturally aspirated 4.0‑liter flat-six engine revs to 9,000 rpm, producing 513 hp and 347 lb‑ft of torque, paired with a crisp PDK gearbox. Upgraded suspension with stiffer springs and rose-jointed components, rear-wheel steering, and precise steering make the car agile and playful, while standard steel brakes provide strong stopping power.

The Sudschleife tour showcases the circuit’s steep uphill and downhill sections, tight corners, and historical significance, including Porsche dominance in the 1960 German GP and subsequent races. Catchpole notes the track’s ghostly legacy and the thrill of navigating it with the GT3 RS. On both historic and modern roads, the car delivers sharp handling, a visceral naturally aspirated soundtrack, and an engaging, driver-focused experience—demonstrating that the RS badge still inspires excitement and performance.
