The purchase was funded by selling a Porsche Speedster he had bought in 1999, which had risen in value and was traded for the GT3 and another car. Because he was in recovery and learning to walk again, the cars sat unused for months before he could finally drive them.
After two years of ownership and about 10,000 miles, he describes the GT3 as thrilling and rewarding, with sharp handling, strong performance, and a high-revving engine producing about 410 hp. Though stiff, the car remains usable for long road trips, including European tours.
Compared to his previous 996 Carrera 4S, the GT3 feels far more focused and aggressive. He plans to keep the car stock, attend driving events, and take it on future road trips, while a second car will be featured in a later episode.
