The 1992 Porsche 911 (964) Turbo S2 is a rare homologation special created so Porsche could compete in the IMSA Bridgestone Supercar Championship. Because the standard 964 Turbo S wasn’t certified for U.S. sale, Porsche North America imported regular 964 Turbos and sent them to Andial in Santa Ana, California, where they were converted to full S2 specification before being offered to customers.

Just 20 road-going examples were built, making the Turbo S2 one of the rarest variants of the 964 generation. Beneath its familiar widebody shape, the S2 received significant performance upgrades, including a K27 turbocharger, a larger intercooler, revised camshafts, and ported and polished cylinder heads. These changes transformed the car into a true road-legal race derivative.

Officially rated at 322 bhp at 5,750 rpm, the Turbo S2 is widely believed to produce far more in reality, with estimates often falling between 380 and 400 horsepower. On the road, the car delivers the raw, turbocharged surge and driver-focused feel that define the 964 Turbo, but with sharper performance and a stronger top-end pull—fitting for a machine developed to meet racing homologation requirements.
