The 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RS represents a particularly engaging chapter in the evolution of Porsche’s naturally aspirated, motorsport-derived road cars. Based on the 997.2-generation 911, it combines a high-revving flat-six, a six-speed manual transmission, and chassis hardware developed around precision driving. This example, currently offered on Bring a Trailer, shows approximately 15,000 miles and features several performance modifications alongside its factory equipment.
Finished in Gray Black with red RS graphics, the car features the wider rear bodywork, adjustable rear wing, and distinctive detailing that separate the GT3 RS from the standard GT3. It rides on red 19-inch center-locking wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) provides electronically controlled damping, while a front-axle lift system improves clearance over steep driveways and other obstacles. Braking performance has been upgraded with Surface Transforms carbon-ceramic rotors paired with yellow Porsche-branded calipers.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter Mezger flat-six featuring VarioCam variable valve timing, titanium connecting rods, and dry-sump lubrication. Factory output was rated at 450 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The engine sends power to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, preserving the direct mechanical character that distinguishes this generation of GT3 RS.
This example has received a series of modifications from Dundon Motorsports, including an ECU tune, intake plenum, harmonic damper, and Street headers connected to a Lifetime “loud” muffler. The coolant pipes have also been pinned, addressing a known service consideration associated with these engines.
The cabin combines black leather and Alcantara upholstery with carbon-fiber-backed sport bucket seats. Additional equipment includes a GMG Racing roll cage, fire extinguisher, red door-pull loops, automatic climate control, Porsche Communication Management 3.0 with navigation and Bluetooth, and the Sound Package Plus system. Sport Chrono Package Plus adds a dashboard-mounted stopwatch, while the Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel features a yellow center marker.
With its combination of a high-revving Mezger engine, traditional manual gearbox, track-oriented chassis, and documented aftermarket enhancements, this 2011 GT3 RS offers a distinctive interpretation of Porsche’s road-legal motorsport philosophy.
