FOR SALE: 1995 Porsche 911 Speedster Remastered by Gunther Werks

Carries an estimate of $1,000,000–$1,300,000

This 1995 Porsche 911 Speedster Remastered by Gunther Werks, known as the “Buenos Aires Commission,” is one of just 25 Speedsters built and had only 13 miles at the time of cataloguing. Finished in black over black with bronze center-lock wheels and subtle Porsche graphics, it is estimated at $1,000,000–$1,300,000 and will be offered at RM Sotheby’s Miami auction on February 27.

Gunther Werks remasters the Type 993-generation 911—the last air-cooled series—using bespoke carbon-fiber bodywork, upgraded chassis components, and extensively reworked engines. Each Speedster starts as a 993 Carrera Cabriolet stripped to bare metal, restored, and reinforced with carbon fiber.

Structural upgrades include additional bracing, a carbon-fiber windshield frame, a roll cage and roll hoop, and aluminum reinforcements, resulting in a chassis claimed to be twice as stiff as a standard coupe without adding weight. The car features a proprietary suspension setup with custom geometry, upgraded anti-roll bars, lightweight uprights, a front strut brace, adjustable JRZ dampers, and a hydraulic front-lift system.

Its original 3.6-liter flat-six was rebuilt by Rothsport Racing into a 4.0-liter engine with forged internals and race-spec components, producing over 430 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered through a strengthened Getrag G50 six-speed manual with a single-mass flywheel and upgraded clutch.

Completed in July 2023, the car combines classic 911 design with modern craftsmanship, including leather-trimmed carbon seats, carbon fiber interior panels, and numerous bespoke details. With all Speedster allocations sold out, this nearly new example represents a rare chance to acquire a custom, open-top, air-cooled Gunther Werks creation.
