FOR SALE: 1992 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer – Classic Services – The Bel Air Commission

Known as the "Bel Air Commission" commissioned by Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion Jenson Button

Now offered through RM Sotheby’s Private Sales, this 1992 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer is the highly bespoke Bel Air Commission, personally commissioned by Formula 1 World Drivers’ Champion Jenson Button. Built for road-going performance while retaining the character of an air-cooled 911, the car represents a carefully considered blend of modern engineering, lightweight construction, and understated luxury.

At its core is Singer Vehicle Design’s 4.0-liter naturally aspirated ‘Motorsports’ engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Performance-focused hardware includes Öhlins adjustable suspension and Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, while seam-welded construction, a carbon-fiber roof, and extensive carbon-fiber bodywork further enhance the car’s dynamic capabilities. Singer’s signature external oil filler and frunk-mounted fuel filler are also included.

Button selected a Paint to Sample Porsche Cassis Red Metallic finish, an unusual period-correct color that shifts between purple and pinkish-bronze depending on the light. The exterior is protected by full paint-protection film and complemented by Touring-spec detailing, nickel-finished bumperettes, badging, RS wheel centers, and black brake calipers with silver lettering.

Inside, the Bel Air Commission adopts an equally distinctive specification. The driver receives a carbon-fiber bucket seat, while the passenger is accommodated in Singer’s four-way-adjustable Touring seat. Bone leather upholstery is paired with a bespoke Bel Air woven pattern across the seats, dashboard, and door panels, with Cassis Red accents on the transmission tunnel and door sills. Nickel detailing, early 911-style gauges, and a raised bespoke gearshift knob add further character. Modern functionality comes from the Porsche Classic Navigation system with Apple CarPlay.

Completed by Singer Vehicle Design in September 2022, the Bel Air Commission has been regularly enjoyed but carefully maintained and remains in excellent condition. Its provenance is particularly compelling: this is not simply a Singer 911 with a famous name attached to it, but a car personally specified by Jenson Button for his own use at his California home. As a result, it offers collectors a rare combination of Singer craftsmanship, highly individualized specification, and direct provenance from a Formula 1 World Champion.
