Now available on Collecting Cars, this RUF RT600 is a rare, performance-enhanced conversion of the 997-generation Porsche 911 Turbo, with production believed to total just 23 examples. While the standard 997 Turbo was already significant as the first production petrol car to feature Variable Turbine Geometry (VTG) turbochargers, the RT600 takes performance further through extensive mechanical and cosmetic upgrades.
The 3.6-litre flat-six engine benefits from revised electronics, sports air filters, upgraded turbochargers, and a performance exhaust system with sports catalytic converters and distinctive 76 mm exhaust tips. A strengthened clutch manages the added torque, while braking is upgraded with 350 mm front discs and six-piston monobloc calipers. This results to 600 horsepower and 626 lb-ft of torque, delivered to all four wheels through a six-speed manual transmission.
Originally finished in Cobalt Blue, this example has been repainted Classic Grey, highlighted by a burgundy racing stripe, an exposed carbon-fiber bonnet, and RUF door mirrors. Exterior updates also include an RT12S front bumper with LED daytime running lights framed by carbon-fiber surrounds.
The car sits on matte-black 19-inch RUF five-spoke wheels fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres, with body-colored brake calipers featuring burgundy RUF logos. A RUF sports suspension system with adjustable dampers is fitted, along with a front lift system.
Inside, the cabin features burgundy Alcantara upholstery, folding carbon-fiber bucket seats, a RUF steering wheel, and an Alpine head unit with satellite navigation. Additional equipment includes rain-sensing wipers, the Sport Chrono Package, ParkAssist with rear sensors, air conditioning, cruise control, heated seats, a Bose sound system, a six-CD autochanger, and an electric sunroof.
