The Porsche 996 Turbo is already a remarkable machine, but RUF’s tuned version elevates performance to an even higher level. With the RUF upgrade, the 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers 550 horsepower—an increase of 130 hp over the stock car. Torque also jumps from 560 Nm to an impressive 780 Nm.
The upgrade package features bespoke components, including upgraded turbochargers, ECU, exhaust, intake manifold, and a reinforced clutch. Buyers could also opt for the RUF aerodynamic package, which added a revised front bumper, spoiler, side sills, unique badging, 19-inch RUF wheels, and a performance suspension setup.
While the factory 996 Turbo can reach approximately 305 km/h (190 mph), the RUF-modified version surpasses this, topping 335 km/h (209 mph). In a video by AutoTopNL, the car was pushed to its top speed on the Autobahn, achieving a recorded speed of 337 km/h (209 mph).
