This 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera Coupe underwent a meticulous two-year custom build with more than $622,000 invested, excluding the base car. The project included a complete drivetrain overhaul by Rothsport Racing, a bespoke interior by DJ Designs, and extensive modifications to the chassis and body.
The car was refinished in blue with widened carbon fiber body panels, a sunroof delete, RS-style ducts, aero mirrors, and tinted lighting. Satin gold 18-inch Augment three-piece wheels are paired with Toyo Proxes R888 tires, while silver Brembo calipers with red lettering provide stopping power.
The custom-built 4.0-liter flat-six produces a reported 425 horsepower at 7,800 rpm, utilizing Mahle pistons, custom Nicasil-coated cylinders, 3.8-liter heads with stainless valves, Elgin valve springs, and titanium retainers. A MoTeC M84 engine management system oversees the setup, complemented by a GT3 oil pump, GT3 rod bearings, RS engine mounts, and a titanium exhaust.
Power is routed through a five-speed manual transmission featuring a billet short-shifter assembly, a Goldenrod shift rod, and reinforced chassis modifications with extensive seam welding.
Suspension and handling upgrades include adjustable JRZ coilovers, RS sway bars, 993 bump steer, and GT2/RSR tie rods, as well as urethane steering rack mounts. 15-inch six-piston Brembo calipers handle braking.
Inside, DJ Designs completely reimagined the cabin, earning the 2023 SEMA Auto Metal Direct Interior of the Year Award. Blue leather and suede upholstery, paired with gold accents, are complemented by custom Recaro carbon fiber racing seats, a Sparc Industries steering wheel, redesigned VDO gauges, and a tachometer featuring a gold bezel. Features include custom pedals, a rear luggage compartment, electronic air conditioning, and Porsche Classic Communication Management with Apple CarPlay.
