The folks from Top Gear recently visited Singer’s UK facility—the birthplace of the Dynamics and Lightweighting Study (DLS) and DLS Turbo—to see their latest creation: the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe reimagined by Singer.
This car starts with a classic 964, stripped to its bare shell and rebuilt with Singer’s obsessive attention to detail. The headline specs: naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six, 414 hp, rear-wheel drive, six-speed manual, and a muscular “Turbo-look” wide body.
Red Bull Advanced Technologies helped stiffen the chassis, incorporating carbon fiber reinforcements. There’s no shortage of modern features either: adjustable dampers, five drive modes, and a nose-lift system, all subtly integrated.
Singer plans to produce 100 of these Carrera Coupes, each priced at approximately $1.6 million. While engineering takes place in the UK, final assembly is done in the U.S., offering nearly limitless customization options to each owner.
