At 15h00 on 10 June 1979, the Kremer Brothers claimed one of the most unexpected victories in the Le Mans 24-Hour race, beating many much larger works teams to the checkered flag with their Porsche 935 K3. This remarkable achievement was made possible by Porsche’s advances in turbocharging technology, first seen in Mark Donohue’s mighty 917/30.

This technology was subsequently adapted for use in the 2,142 cc Carrera RSR Turbo in 1974, and later in the all-conquering 934 and 935 models.
