German car manufacturer RUF Automobile has debuted its RUF EHRA at The Quail by The Peninsula, a Motorsports Gathering held during this year’s Monterey Car Week. Named for the Ehra-Lessien proving ground, where legendary racing driver Phil Hill set a world-record top speed in the CTR “Yellowbird,” the EHRA reflects RUF’s longstanding focus on performance and engineering, principles that have defined the company for more than eight decades. A distinctive widebody design and fastback rear deck improve aerodynamics while giving the car a sleek, purposeful stance. The EHRA appears at The Quail alongside the latest RODEO, CTR Anniversary, SCR and CTR3 EVO customer deliveries. All RUF vehicles participating in Monterey Car Week will also run on renewable e-Fuels through the company’s latest collaboration with e-Fuels producer HIF Global.
EHRA: A New Era in RUF Performance
The new RUF EHRA has arrived. The latest RUF model built around the manufacturer’s carbon-fiber monocoque chassis, the EHRA is engineered to deliver extreme performance without sacrificing everyday drivability. New front and rear fascias meet a sleek fastback profile that deliberately forgoes a fixed whale-tail spoiler. The front track is 58mm wider and the rear track 54mm wider than those of the CTR Anniversary, while newly designed five-spoke, center-lock forged alloy wheels complete the car’s more aggressive appearance. Together, these changes improve cooling, stability, and high-speed performance.
Power comes from a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged boxer six-cylinder engine producing 650 horsepower and 664 pound-feet of torque. A fully variable all-wheel-drive system works with a seven-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential, maximizing traction and providing greater confidence across a range of driving conditions while preserving the possibility of rear-wheel-drive dynamics.
The EHRA uses a double-wishbone suspension at all four corners, paired with pushrod-actuated horizontal adaptive dampers. The setup is designed to provide precise feedback and immediate responses to driver inputs without compromising the ride quality needed for everyday use. Throughout the car, RUF has focused on balancing lightweight construction, durability, and precision with the level of driver engagement expected from the marque.
Beyond its performance capabilities, the first production EHRA was designed with the tastes of driving enthusiasts and collectors in mind. Its lightweight carbon-fiber body is finished in deep Liquid Silver, while the cabin combines titanium pedals with hand-stitched natural brown leather featuring a geometric “Pasha” checkered-flag pattern. Dark, matte-finished carbon trim adds contrast while maintaining the interior’s warm, understated character.
The five-pod gauge cluster features a complete set of RUF Green instruments, while foldable carbon bucket “lollipop” seats secure occupants during spirited driving while remaining comfortable enough for long-distance travel. Additional details include RUF LED light clusters, concealed electronically deployed door handles and air intakes integrated into the rear quarter windows, all of which reinforce the EHRA’s connection to the broader RUF lineup. Unique to the EHRA is a carbon-fiber variable rear spoiler that deploys automatically at highway speeds and can also be controlled manually by the driver.
“We are so honored to be back once again at The Quail,” said Alois Ruf, owner of RUF Automobile. “The EHRA is a very special car for us, and we’re incredibly excited to finally share it with the world. Every year, The Quail brings us closer to our friends, fans and customers, and this year we are delivering a remarkable lineup of new cars to their new owners. Each RUF we are showcasing is unique in its own way, with pure driving pleasure front and center as always.”
