Unveiled at the 2023 Rennsport Reunion in Monterey, California, the 911 GT3 R Rennsport was developed from the GT3 R race car platform but reimagined exclusively for track-day use, free from the regulatory limitations of GT3 homologation. Its construction centers on a steel-and-aluminum composite chassis clothed in full carbon-fiber bodywork.
While derived from a customer race car, the Rennsport incorporates numerous exclusive elements, including a full carbon-fiber exterior, a dramatic fixed rear wing inspired by 1970s Group 5-era 935s, bespoke aerodynamic refinements, and digital side mirrors. The single-seat cockpit is strictly functional, featuring a fixed racing bucket with six-point harness, FIA-approved roll cage, roof-mounted rescue hatch, safety nets, and a stripped-back Race-Tex-trimmed dashboard.
Now offered for sale on Collecting Cars, this GT3 R Rennsport is number 37 of the 77 built and remains in delivery-mileage condition. Limited to just 77 examples worldwide, it is an exceptionally rare, uncompromising track-only model.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 4.2-litre flat-six producing 611 horsepower at 9,400 rpm, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed sequential gearbox with an electrohydraulic clutch actuator. Although rooted in the 992-generation GT3 R, the Rennsport benefits from unique body panels and aerodynamic components developed by Style Porsche without competition constraints.
Finished in the optional Flacht Design livery with red and white accents over exposed carbon fiber, this example rides on forged BBS center-lock wheels with Michelin racing tires. Braking is handled by aluminum monobloc calipers with Bosch Race ABS and Rennsport-specific hardware, completing a purpose-built track machine.
