Introduced in 1954, the Speedster designation has long been associated with some of the most celebrated road-going Porsche models to leave Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen. The latest interpretation, based on the 991.2-generation 911, debuted for the 2019 model year and was produced in a strictly limited run of 1,948 units—a tribute to the year Porsche began vehicle production.
Currently offered on Bring a Trailer with only 1,800 miles, this 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is number 1,883 of the 1,948 examples produced worldwide. Borrowing its drivetrain from the highly acclaimed Porsche 911 GT3, it is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six producing 502 horsepower, paired exclusively with a six-speed GT Sport manual transmission.
Finished in GT Silver Metallic, the car was specified with the Heritage Design Package, adding white graphics and accents, gold badging, and distinctive No. 70 racing roundels. Completing the exterior are silver center-locking 20-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin performance tires.
Inside, the two-seat cabin features carbon-fiber full bucket seats trimmed in Cognac leather, complemented by black leather on portions of the dashboard and door panels. A leather-wrapped GT Sport steering wheel sits ahead of a gauge cluster highlighted by a central tachometer with a 9,000-rpm redline, accompanied by a 225-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges monitoring vital engine functions. A dashboard-mounted stopwatch further reinforces the car’s motorsport-inspired character.
Performance-focused equipment includes a mechanical rear differential lock with asymmetric locking, Porsche Torque Vectoring, Porsche Stability Management, Porsche Active Suspension Management, a stainless-steel sport exhaust system, and carbon-ceramic brakes with signature yellow Porsche calipers. Far beyond anything envisioned by buyers of the original 356 Speedster, this modern interpretation also features a Front Axle Lift System, a carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic tonneau cover with distinctive double-bubble streamliners, and a lightweight carbon-fiber hood.
Luxury and convenience features include Porsche-branded floor mats, Porsche Communication Management with navigation, a Bose audio system, the Light Design Package, auto-dimming mirrors, Voice Control, aluminum pedals, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and a factory-installed fire extinguisher.
Additional highlights include a rearview camera, power windows and locks, heated power mirrors, black floor mats, black-finished LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, and a stainless-steel exhaust note to match its performance credentials.
