For more than seven decades, the Speedster badge has represented some of Porsche’s most focused and driver-centric road cars. First introduced in 1954, the designation has become synonymous with lightweight performance, open-top driving, and motorsport-inspired character.
The final iteration based on the 991.2-generation 911 arrived for the 2019 model year, with production capped at just 1,948 examples—a tribute to 1948, the year Porsche built its first sports car in Austria. The model also served as a fitting farewell to the acclaimed 991-generation 911.
Currently offered for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is example number 1,880 of the 1,948 units produced. Created to commemorate Porsche’s 70th anniversary, the Speedster blends elements from some of the marque’s most celebrated modern models.
It utilizes the GT3’s chassis, suspension system, naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six producing 502 horsepower, and six-speed manual gearbox, while incorporating lightweight carbon-fiber body panels derived from the 911 R.
The cockpit reinforces the car’s performance-focused mission, highlighted by a centrally mounted 10,000-rpm tachometer and a 225-mph speedometer. The car is capable of a 0–60 mph sprint in just 3.7 seconds, 1.07g of lateral grip on the skidpad, and a 70–0 mph braking distance of 148 feet, while Porsche claimed a top speed of 192 mph.
Delivered new through Porsche San Diego, California, and showing 6k miles since new, this Speedster is equipped with numerous desirable options, including the Heritage Design Package, Sport Chrono Package, front-axle lift system, extended-range fuel tank, navigation, air conditioning, and a Bose surround-sound system.
Finished in GT Silver Metallic with white competition-inspired graphics and “48” roundels over a black and Cognac leather interior, this exceptionally preserved Speedster embodies Porsche’s blend of cutting-edge engineering and enduring heritage.
