FOR SALE: 1997 Porsche 911 Carrera Speedster by Gunther Werks

One of only 25 Speedters produced by Gunther Werks

Gunther Werks is dedicated to meticulously “remastering” the 993-generation Porsche 911—the final air-cooled era—using custom carbon-fiber bodywork, reengineered chassis hardware, and heavily developed flat-six engines to deliver a raw, analog driving feel far removed from modern tech-heavy supercars.

The company introduced the Speedster in 2020, limited to just 25 units. Each Speedster begins as a stripped 993 Cabriolet shell that’s fully restored and reinforced with carbon fiber bracing, a strengthened windshield frame, integrated roll structure, and added rigidity where the rear seats once sat—resulting in a chassis claimed to be twice as stiff as stock without extra weight.

Beneath the lightweight body sits a bespoke suspension setup with custom dampers, revised geometry, upgraded anti-roll bars, and a hydraulic nose lift. The original 3.6-liter engine is rebuilt by Rothsport Racing into a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six producing over 430 horsepower, paired with a fortified six-speed manual for an uncompromised driving experience.

Currently listed on Bring a Trailer is one of just 25 Gunther Werks Speedsters, showing a mere 311 miles from new. Finished in Cream White, it rides on dark gray two-piece 18-inch center-lock wheels with carbon-fiber rims and features LED taillights, a honeycomb mesh grille, nickel-plated aluminum mirrors and door handles, plus twin exhaust outlets integrated into the rear valance.

The cabin blends classic 911 design with Gunther Werks’ meticulous craftsmanship and includes the optional Travel Package, adding a carbon-fiber multifunction steering wheel and a single-piece carbon-fiber center console.

Carbon-fiber bucket seats are trimmed in beige leather and Alcantara with houndstooth inserts, complemented by satin-brushed black accents, automatic climate control, and a Porsche Classic head unit. Performance upgrades include Brembo GTR brakes, JRZ electronically adjustable suspension, a front axle lift system, and a signature ducktail rear spoiler.
