Located in Huntington Beach, California, Gunther Werks has earned a reputation for producing meticulously reimagined Porsche 911s. Each build starts with the air-cooled 993-generation platform, which is “remastered” to represent a modern-day continuation of the model had production extended beyond 1998.
For the Speedster, extensive carbon-fiber construction results in a chassis said to be twice as rigid as a coupe, despite the absence of a roof. Structural enhancements—including a carbon windshield frame, integrated roll protection, and reinforced rear sections—improve both safety and driving dynamics.
Power comes from a reworked version of the original 3.6-liter flat-six, enlarged to 4.0 liters by Rothsport Road and Race. Featuring forged internals, individual throttle bodies, and MoTeC engine management, it delivers over 430 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. A reinforced Getrag G50 six-speed manual transmission handles power delivery.
It rides on 18-inch center-lock Turbo Twist-style wheels wrapped in Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 tires, with Brembo GTR brakes providing stopping power. JRZ adaptive coilovers, upgraded suspension components, and a hydraulic front lift system enhance usability.
Inside, the cabin combines carbon fiber, black leather, and Alcantara with yellow accents. Highlights include bucket seats, a carbon steering wheel, milled aluminum details, automatic climate control, and a Porsche Classic Radio.
