Marc Philipp Gemballa GmbH has unveiled the MARSIEN GT, a road-focused evolution of its MARSIEN and the second model in the company’s portfolio of limited-production collector cars. The original MARSIEN, introduced at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2021, combined supercar performance with all-terrain capability. The MARSIEN GT shifts the formula toward grand touring and road performance.
Production will be limited to 30 commissioned examples, bringing total MARSIEN production to 70 cars worldwide in recognition of the 70th anniversary of automotive designer and entrepreneur Uwe Gemballa. The MARSIEN GT is scheduled to make its world premiere and North American debut at Pebble Beach on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2026, at 3 p.m. PDT.
FROM ALL TERRAIN TO GRAND TOURING
Inspired by the Paris–Dakar rally era, the original MARSIEN combined supercar performance with off-road capability. The MARSIEN GT carries the same design language into a more road-focused grand touring package. Built on the homologated MARSIEN platform, the GT emphasizes road performance, precision handling, and everyday usability, marking a distinct shift from its predecessor’s dual-purpose mission.
A COMPLETELY REIMAGINED PLATFORM
Each MARSIEN GT starts as a Porsche 992 Turbo S before undergoing an extensive transformation involving approximately 1,500 engineered and manufactured components. Changes encompass the carbon-fiber body, double-wishbone suspension, titanium exhaust, lighting, wiring, aerodynamics, chassis systems, and interior. The development required several thousand hours of engineering and design work.
EXTERIOR
The MARSIEN GT receives an entirely new carbon-fiber exterior comprising more than 100 components, including air channels, mirrors, wheel-arch liners and a large rear body section extending from the A-pillar to the rear wing.
Every exterior panel has been redesigned with an emphasis on weight, cooling and aerodynamics. Features include active front-fender louvres, an active rear wing, roof scoop, ram-air and side-skirt intakes, and a carbon-fiber underbody. The changes reduce weight by 75 kilograms compared with a standard Porsche 992 Turbo S.
A central fuel-filler system is intended to improve weight distribution and aerodynamics. The carbon components are produced in Germany by suppliers that also work with major automakers, sports-car manufacturers and Formula One teams. Alan Derosier, who designed the original MARSIEN, returned to lead the MARSIEN GT design.
ENHANCED AERODYNAMIC FEATURES
The MARSIEN GT introduces an active aerodynamic system incorporating pneumatically operated front-fender louvres and a raised, adjustable rear wing. Larger front intakes, a roof scoop, ram-air ducts, side-skirt intakes and a carbon-fiber underbody complete the package. The front louvres vent high-pressure air from the wheel housings to reduce lift and turbulence. The rear wing increases downforce and high-speed stability and can also function as an air brake.
The roof scoop directs airflow to the intercoolers, while separate ram-air intakes supply the engine. Side-skirt ducts provide additional rear-brake cooling. A carbon-fiber underbody replaces the standard aluminum floor, reducing weight while improving airflow toward the diffuser.
NEW ROAD-FOCUSED SUSPENSION
The MARSIEN GT trades the original model’s all-terrain suspension for a road-focused double-wishbone system developed with KW Automotive. It uses a bespoke damper setup based on KW’s DDC V5 technology. Electronically controlled dampers independently adjust compression and rebound through electromagnetic proportional valves, responding to changing conditions in as little as 20 milliseconds.
A front-axle lift raises the nose by 60 mm, or about 2.36 inches, for driveways and speed bumps. Standard ground clearance is 100 mm, or about 3.94 inches. Selectable driving modes adjust the dampers, transmission and engine mapping. Six-spoke forged aluminum center-lock wheels are fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
POWERED BY RUF
RUF Automobile continues its partnership with Marc Philipp Gemballa on the MARSIEN GT’s powertrain. The German manufacturer, known for its Porsche-based engineering, also worked with Uwe Gemballa on powertrains during the 1980s. RUF’s upgrade lifts output from the six-cylinder boxer engine to more than 830 horsepower and 930 Newton-meters of torque through enhanced VTG turbochargers, revised ECU mapping and transmission calibration. A second-stage upgrade producing more than 900 horsepower is under development.
BESPOKE TITANIUM QUAD EXHAUST BY AKRAPOVIČ
Akrapovič developed a full titanium quad-exhaust system specifically for the MARSIEN GT. The system provides a distinctive appearance and sound while complementing the RUF-upgraded powertrain.
ANNIVERSARY LIQUID CHAMPAGNE GOLD – A TRIBUTE IN COLOR
To mark Uwe Gemballa’s 70th anniversary, the launch car is finished in Anniversary Liquid Champagne Gold, a one-off four-layer metallic paint incorporating pearlescent flakes. The color also references the pearl-white finish of the original MARSIEN launch car.
GRANTING BESPOKE INTERIOR DREAMS
Inside, the MARSIEN GT combines bespoke trim with a more driver-focused layout. A raised center console carries an aluminum gear selector inspired by the Porsche Carrera GT, with exposed-carbon or mahogany gear knobs available in place of leather or Alcantara.
Customers can specify additional exposed carbon fiber and a club-sport roll bar finished in paint, leather, Alcantara or carbon fiber. A numbered metal plaque in the center console identifies each of the 30 cars.
The launch car features dark-gray Alcantara, carbon-fiber bucket seats and champagne-colored stitching, seat belts and instrument accents coordinated with its Anniversary Liquid Champagne Gold exterior. Matte carbon trim, an Alcantara-covered roll bar and black badges complete the specification.
LIMITED PRODUCTION RUN OF JUST 30 EXAMPLES
Production of the MARSIEN GT is limited to 30 individually commissioned cars, making it rarer than its predecessor. First deliveries are planned for the end of 2027. Combined MARSIEN and MARSIEN GT production will total 70 vehicles worldwide, commemorating the 70th anniversary of Uwe Gemballa.
WORLD PREMIERE AT MONTEREY CAR WEEK
The MARSIEN GT will make its world premiere and North American debut on the 18th Lawn at Pebble Beach during Monterey Car Week. Following its debut, the car will appear at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, and on the Concept Lawn at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. The MARSIEN GT will be displayed during Monterey Car Week, Aug. 13–16 in Carmel, California.
