Breaking: Porsche 911 GT3 “100 Jahre Nürburgring” Edition

The 100-unit edition honors the circuit's centenary and decades of Porsches testing and racing at the "Green Hell"

In 2027, the Nürburgring marks its 100th anniversary, and Porsche is celebrating its decades-long relationship with the circuit with the 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring. Limited to 100 cars for Germany, the special edition blends Porsche’s motorsport history, Nordschleife-inspired design and the circuit’s long-standing role in developing production cars.

The model makes its public debut at the Porsche Sixt Carrera Cup Deutschland at the Nürburgring on 15–16 August. Orders open in September 2026, with deliveries scheduled for the anniversary year in 2027. Porsche will also offer buyers an exclusive Sonderwunsch Manthey Experience.

“There’s a little bit of Nürburgring in every Porsche – especially in this edition,” says Robert Ader, CEO of Porsche Deutschland. “We are celebrating our close connection to the legendary racetrack in the Eifel, which has long since become our home ground, with the 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring.”

The exterior: front section and rear trim in green

The Nürburgring influence is immediately visible. Buyers can choose White, recalling the neutral finish traditionally used on racing cars before sponsor graphics were applied, or GT Silver Metallic, inspired by Porsche Cup cars. Green accents reference the Nordschleife’s famous ‘Green Hell’ nickname.

Green protective film covers the front section and rear trim, recalling the markings factory teams once used to distinguish cars during races. An optional color-coordinated Manthey kit adds suspension and brake upgrades plus an aerodynamic package producing 540 kilograms of downforce at 285 km/h. Reigning DTM champion Ayhancan Güven demonstrated its potential with a 6:50.853 Nürburgring Nordschleife lap.

Further racing details include green tow lugs, white recovery-point arrows and historic Nürburgring logos. Buyers can specify a race number from 0 to 999 for the bonnet, doors and rear window, rendered in a handwritten-style font inspired by Nordschleife graffiti.

A windscreen sun strip reduces glare while carrying gold Porsche lettering. Green mirror shells contrast with high-gloss California Gold 20/21-inch forged aluminium wheels and satin Black centre locks. B-pillar badges combine ‘GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring’ lettering with a gold circuit graphic.

At the rear, the large wing carries gold Porsche lettering underneath, while its green sideplates feature gold Nürburgring emblems.

The interior: green roll cage and driver’s seat with graduated perforation

“Welcome to the Green Hell” appears on the black anodized aluminum door sills, illuminated in White, while door projectors cast the Nürburgring outline onto the ground. Black leather/Race-Tex trim is accented by cross-pattern stitching and contrasting GT Silver details inspired by the circuit’s kerbs.

The rear roll cage is Green, a theme carried to the driver’s bucket seat through green material visible beneath its perforated upholstery. The driver’s headrest carries the Nürburgring logo, while the passenger side receives ‘GT3’ lettering. Both headrest pads can be removed for helmet use.

The GT steering wheel’s mode button is marked ‘Grüne Hölle’ (‘Green Hell’), while the push-to-pass button, dashboard trim and gear markings add further green accents. Buyers can choose a seven-speed PDK or a six-speed manual, the latter fitted with a walnut gear knob similar to the 911 Carrera T.

“The Nürburgring has been part of our development program for decades and is the spiritual home of our GT cars. This edition captures the atmosphere of the Nordschleife through numerous exterior and interior details that combine motorsport, performance and craftsmanship,” says Alexander Fabig, Vice President Product and Individualization Offering at Porsche. “Together with Style Porsche, we have created a vehicle that pays homage to the thrilling allure of the Nordschleife and to 100 years of motorsport history.”

Unique Sonderwunsch Manthey Experience

Porsche and Manthey will give owners behind-the-scenes access to motorsport during the Nürburgring’s anniversary year. Based beside the circuit, Manthey has specialized in Porsche GT models and racing for 30 years, with Porsche AG as its majority shareholder since 2013. The experience combines access to Manthey experts with driving activities and a closer look at the Manthey Kit.

The sports car for the wrist

Porsche Design will offer owners a matching Chronograph 1. Its black-coated titanium case houses the COSC-certified WERK 01.140 movement, while the rotor echoes the car’s wheel design and color. A historic Nürburgring logo appears on the matt-black dial.

The Porsche-leather strap is perforated over green textile backing, echoing the car’s seats, with GT Silver stitching matching the interior. The Chronograph 1 – 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring is handcrafted at Porsche Design’s watch factory in Grenchen, Switzerland.

Porsche and the Nürburgring: closely linked for decades

Opened on 18 June 1927, the Nürburgring remains defined by the demanding Nordschleife. Its current 20.8-kilometer layout combines 73 corners with steep climbs, descents and roughly 300 meters of elevation change through the Eifel landscape.

Porsche’s competition history there dates to 1953, when the 550 Spyder entered the Eifelrennen. Later that year, Porsche tested the Type 547 engine at the German Grand Prix, the powerplant that became known as the ‘Fuhrmann engine’ and, from 1954, the ‘Carrera.’

Major milestones followed. Porsche scored its first Nürburgring 1,000-kilometre victory with the 910 in 1967. In 1983, Stefan Bellof recorded a 6:11.13 lap in a Porsche 956. Timo Bernhard later set another benchmark in 2018, recording 5:19.546 in the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo.

The Nürburgring also became central to Porsche’s vehicle-development program. From March through October, prototypes undergo endurance, chassis, aerodynamic and functionality testing under extreme conditions. Its corners, compressions, crests and changing surfaces allow engineers to simulate extensive real-world vehicle use in a compressed period. The 911 GT3 100 Jahre Nürburgring therefore commemorates not only the circuit’s centenary, but Porsche’s decades-long relationship with one of motorsport’s most demanding venues.
