FOR SALE: 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera Speedster by Gunther Werks

An excellent opportunity to own one of the sold-out 25 Gunther Werks speeders made

A highly modified 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera transformed by Gunther Werks into a bespoke Speedster is now listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, representing one of just 25 examples built to the Huntington Beach company’s open-air specification. Known as the “Buenos Aires” commission, the build was completed in 2023 and combines the air-cooled, analog character of the Porsche 993 with extensive modern engineering and carbon-fiber construction.

The original Cabriolet was stripped of its convertible top, side windows, and windshield before Gunther Werks reinforced the steel unibody and widened its track. Carbon-fiber bodywork includes revised front and rear fenders, bumpers, side skirts, hood, shortened windshield frame, and a Speedster-style tonneau cover. The exterior is finished in black with ghosted side stripes, bronze Porsche lettering, exposed carbon-fiber accents, and a carbon-fiber ducktail spoiler incorporating a ram-air scoop. Black Edition bi-LED headlights, LED lighting, and twin exhaust outlets complete the transformation.

Power comes from a 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six constructed by Rothsport Racing. The engine features Mahle pistons, billet cylinders, a billet crankshaft, forged connecting rods, individual throttle bodies, coil-on-plug ignition, and two-stage MoTeC engine management. Gunther Werks rated output at 430 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque. A lightweight titanium exhaust with equal-length stainless-steel headers handles the spent gases.

The rear wheels receive power through a Getrag G50 six-speed manual transaxle equipped with custom ratios and a carbon-clutch limited-slip differential. A single-mass flywheel and single-plate clutch further tailor the drivetrain for responsive mechanical engagement.

Chassis upgrades are equally comprehensive. Electronically adaptive JRZ coilovers work with custom control arms, uprated anti-roll bars, lightweight uprights, reinforced rear bracing, stiffened sills, and a front strut brace. A hydraulic front-axle lift adds practicality, while Brembo GTR six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers clamp two-piece ventilated rotors.

The cabin follows the lightweight theme with black leather-trimmed carbon-fiber bucket seats, extensive exposed carbon-fiber and aluminum trim, forged aluminum pedals and passenger footrest, automatic climate control, and a Porsche Classic Radio. A carbon-fiber steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation highlighted by a 9,000-rpm tachometer and 180-mph speedometer.

By retaining the 993’s fundamental architecture while re-engineering virtually every major component, the Gunther Werks Speedster delivers a distinctive blend of air-cooled Porsche character, modern chassis technology, and bespoke craftsmanship.
