Now listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS represents one of the most extreme and technically sophisticated iterations of the 911 platform. Since its introduction in 1964, the 911 has established itself as a benchmark for performance cars, while the GT2 lineage has consistently pushed the model toward motorsport-derived levels of performance. Introduced in 1993 to satisfy GT2 racing homologation requirements, the GT2 evolved into a road-going showcase of Porsche’s engineering expertise, culminating in the 991.2-generation GT2 RS.
At the heart of this example is a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six, factory rated at 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. The engine incorporates an intercooler spray system and carbon-fiber engine cover, sending its output exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transaxle, limited-slip differential, and Porsche Torque Vectoring. Porsche quoted a 0–60 mph time of just 2.7 seconds and a 211-mph top speed, making the GT2 RS one of the fastest production 911s of its era.
Weight reduction was central to the GT2 RS formula. Carbon fiber is extensively used throughout the body, including the hood, fender vents, side intakes, and rear wing, while the optional $18,000 Weissach Package added a carbon-fiber roof, lightweight suspension components, and other mass-saving measures. The car also received $13,000 magnesium wheels, a titanium exhaust, polyurethane aerodynamic elements, and lightweight glazing. Together, these measures contribute to a curb weight of approximately 3,241 pounds.
Finished in Chalk over a black leather and Alcantara cabin with Guards Red accents, this example is equipped with carbon-fiber full bucket seats, Weissach RS headrest embroidery, red contrast stitching, and an Alcantara steering wheel with a red center stripe. Guards Red instrumentation, carbon-fiber trim, illuminated door-sill guards, and carbon-fiber floor mats further emphasize its competition-inspired character.
Its chassis specification is equally serious, featuring Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes, Porsche Active Suspension Management, adjustable dampers and anti-roll bars, rear-axle steering, Porsche Stability Management, and a front-axle lift system. The staggered 20-inch front and 21-inch rear magnesium wheels are secured by center-locking hubs and fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.
Additional equipment includes Sport Chrono, the Light Design Package, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, PCM navigation, and Bose surround sound. Produced in limited numbers between 2017 and 2019, the GT2 RS combines exceptional rarity with a level of performance that firmly establishes it among the defining modern 911s.
