Porsche has unveiled a comprehensive update for the 2027 Taycan lineup, highlighted by a new E-Shift system that introduces simulated gear changes, enhanced electric sound, and a more engaging driving experience across all variants.
Available on every Taycan model, E-Shift creates the sensation of an eight-speed transmission through steering-wheel-mounted paddles, virtual shift shocks, gear-specific deceleration effects, and a digital rev counter. Porsche says the system is designed to add emotional appeal to the EV driving experience, while the flagship Taycan Turbo GT receives the feature as standard.
The 2027 Taycan also adopts Porsche’s latest Digital Interaction infotainment platform, featuring significantly faster processing, customizable widgets, improved Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, and an AI-enhanced Voice Pilot capable of more natural voice interactions. Over-the-air software updates are now supported, and a redesigned wireless charging tray delivers up to 25 watts of charging power.
Powertrain updates include the larger 105-kWh Performance Battery Plus as standard equipment on Taycan, Taycan 4 and Taycan 4S models. The battery supports DC fast-charging rates of up to 320 kW and adds a new battery health display.
To improve charging convenience, most Taycan variants now feature a NACS DC fast-charging port on the passenger side, while retaining a J1772 AC charging port on the driver’s side. Porsche will include a CCS adapter.
Additional updates include an expanded Paint to Sample program with 153 available colors, including classic shades such as Shark Blue and Python Green, along with new options like Loretta Purple and Rose Red.
Order books for the 2027 Taycan are now open, with U.S. deliveries scheduled to begin in fall 2026. Pricing starts at $111,900 for the rear-wheel-drive Taycan, excluding destination charges.
