At the 2014 STW Kuno Porsche Motorsport International Media Day, 19Bozzy92 on YouTube captured a 1993 Porsche 911 (964) Carrera 3.8 RSR from the Stadler Motorsport team on track, showcasing its accelerations and flybys.
The 964 Carrera RSR combined the slightly tamer RS 3.8 engine with full GT racing engineering, built to compete in European GT races and North America’s Supercar series. Its rear-mounted 3.8-liter air-cooled flat-six featured natural aspiration, dual ignition, dry-sump lubrication, and Bosch fuel injection, producing up to 375+ horsepower.
The RSR retained the 964 production shell but was seam-welded for rigidity and fitted with a full roll cage by Matter. Lightweight materials included alloy doors, front lids, a steel engine cover for the fiberglass wing, thin windows, and a front oil cooler.
The suspension and brakes were upgraded with stainless-steel Heim joints, Bilstein dampers, and Turbo S-derived braking, all mounted on 18-inch Speedline center-lock wheels. Weighing just 2,673 pounds dry, the RSR 3.8 could hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and exceed 180 mph, making it a remarkable blend of speed, agility, and race-ready engineering.
