Mat Watson Got Some Seat Time on the Newest Porsche Panamera

The latest Porsche Panamera is here and Mat Watson from carwow gives us his honest take on this new four-door saloon brings a host of thoughtful upgrades.

Starting with its design, the new Panamera is  sleeker, sportier, and more cohesive. The front end borrows styling cues from the new Cayenne, including aggressive bonnet creases and fully functional air vents—no fake grilles here. The profile is lower and more streamlined, with 21-inch wheels filling the arches perfectly. At the rear, there’s a fresh design with a frameless glass hatch and real exhaust tips, and while the one-piece spoiler isn’t as dramatic as the split-wing on previous top trims, it still looks clean and purposeful.

Inside, the Panamera shines. The materials are high-end, and the build quality is excellent, especially in cars with the extended leather package. The infotainment system is quick and intuitive, seamlessly integrating Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You’ll also find Porsche-specific displays showing performance data like slip angle and energy consumption, a nice bonus for tech-savvy drivers.

Under the hood, there’s plenty of choice. The base Panamera and four models get a 2.9-liter turbo V6 with 353 hp. The 4 E-Hybrid bumps to 470 hp. The 4S E-Hybrid reaches 544 hp. The GTS packs a 500 hp 4.0-liter V8. And the Turbo E-Hybrid combines that V8 with electric power for a staggering 680 hp.
