Current Porsche Taycan Turbo S – Ultimate Guide
The 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo S returns with major upgrades across the board, making it even faster, more refined, and more distinct within the lineup. The Taycan Turbo S delivers staggering acceleration and more day-to-day usability, cementing its spot as the ultimate all-around performer in the Taycan range.
Power remains a key highlight. The Turbo S produces 700 kW (952 PS) or roughly 938 horsepower, along with 818 lb-ft of torque when Launch Control is engaged. Porsche estimates 0 to 100 km/h in 2.4 seconds, which translates to about 2.3 seconds to 60 mph, putting it just behind the Turbo GT but ahead of most EVs and gas-powered super sedans on the market. A two-speed transmission at the rear axle helps balance off-the-line punch with cruising efficiency.
New for 2025 is the push-to-pass function, standard with the Sport Chrono package. When activated via a steering wheel-mounted button, it delivers a 70 kW boost for 10 seconds, ideal for overtaking or adding extra drama on twisty roads. It’s the kind of instant, controlled surge that makes EV performance so addictive.
Supporting all this is Porsche’s upgraded 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus, which offers more capacity without added weight. The battery works alongside updated thermal management and a more efficient rear motor to improve real-world range. While official EPA numbers aren’t out yet, Porsche quotes a WLTP range of up to 630 km (around 390 miles), depending on driving conditions and configuration.
Charging is also faster. The Turbo S now supports up to 320 kW DC fast charging on 800-volt systems, meaning a 10 to 80 percent charge can take just 18 minutes in ideal conditions. A new 150 kW DC/DC converter enhances charging performance on 400-volt networks as well, expanding where and how efficiently the car can be recharged.
Beyond performance, Porsche sharpened the appearance of the Taycan Turbo S. Up front, you’ll find new HD Matrix Design headlights, recontoured fenders, and a more sculpted bumper. At the rear, a 3D-effect Porsche logo is integrated into the taillight strip, and an illuminated version is optional. Turbo models now get Turbonite accents on the badging and exterior trim for clearer visual distinction.
The model shown in press materials wears a new color called Provence, a violet shade inspired by the lavender fields of southern France. It also features 21-inch RS Spyder Design wheels and standard Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB)—performance gear that looks the part while delivering serious function.
Inside, the Turbo S blends performance cues with upscale materials. It comes standard with smooth-finish leather, shown in Bramble, with exclusive Manufaktur elements like embossed Porsche crests on the headrests and aluminum pedals. The updated Porsche Driver Experience interface includes a revised gauge cluster, a central touchscreen, and an available passenger display. Wireless Apple CarPlay is more deeply integrated, and a new in-car video streaming function lets you watch media while parked.
The push-to-pass button sits on the steering wheel’s drive mode selector, and the entire user interface feels quicker and more intuitive than before. Other upgrades include ambient lighting, door sill protectors in brushed aluminum, and a wider range of customization options — including a no-cost leather-free interior featuring Race-Tex microfiber and Pepita-patterned wool-blend inserts.
The Turbo S also benefits from Porsche’s revised adaptive air suspension, which smooths out road imperfections while keeping the car poised through corners. Available as an option is Porsche Active Ride, a fully active suspension system that continuously levels the car and actively counters body roll and pitch. It also includes a useful comfort function that raises the car when parked to make entry and exit easier.
Standard features include Surround View with Active Parking Support, Lane Change Assist, a heated steering wheel, dual charge ports, and a Burmester 3D high-end surround sound system. Porsche’s usual suite of driver assistance tech, like automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and adaptive cruise control, is included or available depending on market and configuration.
The 2025 Taycan Turbo S might not carry the ultimate horsepower crown anymore, but it doesn’t need to. With a sharper design, faster acceleration, better range, and added comfort, it remains the most complete Taycan in the lineup, a luxury EV that’s just as capable on a racetrack as it is during the daily grind.
Whether you choose the standard sedan or the more versatile Cross Turismo body, the Turbo S continues to deliver the duality Porsche fans expect: high performance without compromise.

Listicle: Porsche Taycan Turbo S
Porsche’s all-electric Taycan sports saloon has been given a significant update. It now features a sharper look, the latest generation driver experience aids, more power, increased range, quicker charging and faster acceleration.
Featured here is the Taycan Turbo S model. Turbo variants now boast a more significant visual difference to the other models in the range, including the Turbonite crest on the bonnet.
What is it?
Launched in 2019, Taycan was the first fully-electric Porsche sports car.
It redefined EV performance cars with its modular battery cells that allowed it to sit lower and give the same sporty driving position as the 911 Coupe.
Taycan was also the first production car to use 800 volt technology, which enables faster recharging.
What’s new?
This is the first model update for Taycan. It has received upgrades to its chassis, drivetrain, software, interior and exterior while shedding up to 15kg.
Exterior
This Taycan Turbo S wears a new violet colour called ‘Provence’ that is named after the region in Southern France and its spectacular lavender fields.
It also features 21-inch RS Spyder Design Wheels with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and a Turbonite SportDesign Package.
New for 2025 are revised front guards with flatter headlights to emphasise width. It also includes Porsche’s four-point daytime light signature and new tail lights including the Porsche logo in the rear strip as a three-dimensional, glass-look design.
Interior
The Turbo S features Smooth-Finish Leather in Bramble with Exclusive Manufaktur highlights including the Porsche Crest on headrests, and aluminium pedals.
Surround View with Active Parking Support and a Burnmester 3D high-end surround sound system are also included.
Because this Taycan Turbo S has the Sport Chrono package and the Performance Battery Plus, it also has the push-to-pass button on the steering wheel-mounted mode switch.
Drivetrain
A permanently excited synchronous electric motor sits on each of the front and rear axle, and is therefore all-wheel drive. It features a two-speed transmission for quicker acceleration and better long-range efficiency.
A new push-to-pass button provides 70 kW boost for 10 seconds, giving the Turbo S an extra 140 kW when used with Launch Control.

Driving experience
The low profile and centre of gravity of the Taycan gives it a similar feel to the 911 when you sit behind the wheel. The cornering characteristics and acceleration both make this car an amazing performance sports sedan.
The two-speed transmission adds to its sportscar feel as it shifts into high gear on the motorways for better range and slips back down a notch for tight corners and mountain passes for better acceleration.
Porsche’s Active Ride active-suspension also does a great job filtering out road imperfections, speed humps and limits body movement by actively compensating to further enhance driving dynamics and performance. Moreover, it has additional comfort funcations, as it even lifts the car while parked to allow for easier entry and exit for driver and passengers.
