What it’s like to Drive a Road-Legal Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport

The folks from 9WERKS TV on YouTube managed to get their hands on a Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport, originally designed as a pure race car, which has now been converted for road use.

The Cayman GT4 Clubsport was produced in limited numbers between 2016 and 2018, based on the 981 GT4 road car. With 385 horsepower from a naturally aspirated 3.8-liter flat-six (sourced from the 911 Carrera S), a 991 Cup-spec front axle, limited-slip differential, and a six-speed PDK gearbox, it was built for GT4 racing. At just 1,300 kg, it was a serious entry point into motorsport.

The example here has taken an unusual path. Starting life as a track-only car, it was relocated from Norway to the UK, where its owner undertook the challenge of making it road-legal. That process required Single Vehicle Approval (SVA), which involved modifications such as adding a handbrake and fitting arch extensions to comply with UK regulations. The result is likely the only road-registered GT4 Clubsport in the country.
