Mike Levitas of TPC Racing gives us an inside look at the 3.8-liter 1995 Porsche 993 Carrera RS Clubsport, a rare street-legal track car with only about 200 built. Homologated for GT2, the RS Clubsport was the ultimate track-day car of its era, blending race-bred engineering with street usability.
With aluminum panels, a welded-in cage, and a stripped-down interior, the car weighs roughly 110 lbs less than the standard RS, emphasizing Porsche’s signature lightweight design. Its suspension borrows from Cup cars, with adjustable caster and aluminum uprights, while steel-synchro gears, a short-geared 3.8 engine, and a lightweight flywheel deliver precise, engaging feedback.
Inside, fixed Recaro seats, plywood floors, and integrated roll bars enhance driver connection, while the catalytic Gillette exhaust provides the perfect soundtrack. Outside, iconic Speedline wheels, Euro-spec lighting, and the distinctive rear spoiler complete the race-ready look.
