This Remove Before Race review examines the 2020 911 Turbo S Cabriolet (992 generation) and compares it with its predecessor, highlighting major performance and design upgrades. Power comes from a revised twin-turbo flat-six producing 650 hp and 800 Nm, featuring larger VTG turbochargers, improved cooling, and faster electronic wastegates. Performance is extreme, with 0–60 mph achievable in about 2.5 seconds thanks to all-wheel drive and massive torque.
Compared to the previous 991.2 Turbo S Cabriolet, the 992 gains a more aggressive design with wider tracks, staggered 20/21-inch wheels, active aerodynamics, and functional air intakes. The updated PASM suspension broadens its abilities, making it both more comfortable in normal driving and sharper in Sport modes, pushing it closer to GT-model engagement while retaining everyday usability.
The fabric roof keeps the coupe’s silhouette and offers strong insulation, adding about 60 kg but enhancing the driving experience with open-air sound and sensation. A new sport exhaust provides a louder, more aggressive tone with distinctive pops and turbocharged character.
