This Cars with Luke video follows the owner of a rare Porsche 964 RS N/GT on a short coffee run. The RS N/GT is a homologation special derived from the 964 Cup race cars, essentially a race car made road-legal. Only about 290 were built, and this example is particularly significant as chassis number one and an original Porsche press car.
Recently rebuilt over four years using original parts, the car is still being carefully broken in, so the owner drives it gently and keeps revs low. The restoration included extensive mechanical work, and a few details—such as the gearbox and wheels—are still being finalized. Equipped with race-derived components like a Cup exhaust, single-mass flywheel, and stiff suspension, the car delivers a raw, mechanical driving experience with minimal comfort features.
Despite initial nerves about damaging such a valuable and freshly restored car, the owner quickly relaxes and enjoys the pure, race-car-like feel. Loud, engaging, and uncompromising, the RS N-GT feels more like a competition machine with license plates than a typical road car, making even a simple coffee trip feel special.
