The 964 Speedster differs from other 911s with its low windshield, rear-seat delete, and distinctive rear cover. It was sparsely equipped to save weight, with many features like air conditioning and cruise control optional, though power windows came standard. Positioned between the Cabriolet and the Carrera RS, it combined lightweight characteristics with open-top driving, though without the RS’s stiffer suspension.
Powered by a 250-hp flat-six with 310 Nm of torque, it can reach 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a top speed of about 260 km/h. The lightweight feel, rear-wheel drive, and open roof make it engaging to drive, with the flat-six engine sound adding to the experience.
