Ultra-Rare Gemballa Mirage GT Based on Porsche Carrera GT Heads to Auction

One of only 25 Gemballa Mirage GTs

Few vehicles occupy the same rarefied space as the Gemballa Mirage GT, and this exceptional example is set to cross the block at Mecum’s Monterey Auction on August 15. Built from Porsche’s legendary Carrera GT, the Mirage GT represents Gemballa’s uncompromising vision of what the V-10 supercar could become when engineering, performance, and exclusivity are pushed to their limits.

This particular car is especially significant as chassis No. 24 of just 25 Mirage GTs produced, making it the final bespoke example completed in Gemballa’s production sequence. Accompanied by extensive factory build documentation and invoices, it showcases one of the most comprehensive and expensive Mirage GT conversions ever undertaken. Remarkably, the car has accumulated only around 100 miles since the conversion was completed.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V-10 upgraded through Gemballa’s proprietary performance package. A recalibrated ECU, bespoke ram-air intake system, and free-flowing stainless-steel exhaust increase output to an impressive 670 horsepower and 630 Nm of torque, a notable improvement over the standard Carrera GT. The enhancements enable blistering acceleration, with a claimed 0-60 mph time of approximately 3.7 seconds and a top speed exceeding 208 mph.

Performance upgrades extend well beyond the engine. Gemballa equipped the Mirage GT with adjustable coil-over suspension, allowing independent tuning of compression and rebound damping for sharper handling. A KW front and rear axle lift system improves everyday usability by raising the ride height at the push of a button, while forged center-lock motorsport-style wheels optimize airflow to the internally ventilated ceramic composite braking system.

The driving experience is further refined through a bespoke Gemballa sport clutch designed to deliver smoother engagement during low-speed driving, addressing one of the Carrera GT’s most widely discussed characteristics without sacrificing driver involvement. Inside, the cockpit features Slate Gray Alcantara accented with striking yellow stitching, a comprehensive carbon-fiber trim package, and an upgraded Gemballa multimedia system with an integrated Data Control System capable of displaying real-time acceleration, braking, and lateral G-force data.

Finished in Lime Rock Gray Metallic with black body accents and vibrant Sun Yellow highlights, the Mirage GT also benefits from a complete carbon-fiber exterior conversion. A comprehensive documented service has been completed ahead of the auction, including applicable factory recall work, ensuring this ultra-exclusive hypercar is presented in exceptional mechanical condition for its next custodian.
