Tyler Maxson Wins 2026 Porsche Carrera Cup North America Title as TOPP Racing Sweeps Championships

TOPP Racing seals consecutive titles at COTA finale

TOPP Racing secured its second consecutive Porsche Carrera Cup North America entrant championship at Circuit of the Americas, with Tyler Maxson claiming the 2026 Mobil Pro class drivers’ title and winning Sunday’s season finale. The team completed its championship campaign with Maxson’s ninth victory of the season and the entrant title, supported by teammate Cole Kleck, who earned Rookie of the Year honors.

The October 24–25 doubleheader in Austin, Texas, also saw victories for ACI Motorsports driver Janne Stiak, GMG Racing’s James Sofronas, Pro-Am champion Patrick Mulcahy and Masters competitor Scott Blind. The finale took place during the United States Grand Prix weekend, bringing the Porsche one-make championship to a close on Formula One’s American stage.

Tyler Maxson Clinches Pro Championship in Saturday’s Race

Maxson entered Saturday’s opening race in contention for the Mobil Pro championship and secured the title with a third-place finish. The TOPP Racing driver started from pole position in his No. 77 Porsche 911 Cup but lost the lead to ACI Motorsports’ Janne Stiak at Turn One.

Stiak, driving the No. 40 Porsche, took advantage of Maxson’s defensive line to move ahead, while Kellymoss driver Aaron Jeansonne passed Maxson two corners later. Stiak established a lead of more than two seconds before a seventh-lap caution interrupted the race following contact between Josh Conley and Dan Drohan.

The race restarted with 10 minutes remaining, but another incident involving Masters competitors Matt Smith, Kyle Washington and Marco Cirone brought out the safety car. All three retired, and the race ended under caution after time expired during the cleanup.

Stiak took the overall victory ahead of Jeansonne, who recorded his eighth runner-up finish and 13th podium of the season. Maxson’s third-place result, combined with bonus points for Sunday’s pole position, secured the Pro championship. It was his ninth podium of the year, following eight previous victories.

Maxson Dominates Sunday’s Porsche Carrera Cup Finale

With the championship already decided, Maxson returned to the front on Sunday and delivered a commanding victory in the final race of the season. Starting from pole, he retained the lead through the opening corners and controlled the 16-lap contest in his No. 77 TOPP Racing Porsche. A brief early caution followed contact between Sabré Cook and Alan Metni, both of whom stopped off course. Maxson maintained his advantage after the interruption, set the fastest lap and crossed the finish line 6.077 seconds ahead of the field.

Behind him, Stiak and JDX Racing’s Callum Hedge battled for second place, exchanging positions three times on the opening lap. Hedge initially finished ahead on the road but received a 10-second penalty for track-limit violations, promoting Stiak to second.

JTR Motorsports Engineering’s Jared Thomas inherited third after a competitive battle involving Jeansonne, Paul Bocuse and TOPP Racing’s Cole Kleck. Jeansonne ran wide at Turn Nine on lap nine, allowing three rivals through and opening the way for Thomas to secure the final podium position.

Patrick Mulcahy Finishes Pro-Am Championship Season With 15 Wins

ACI Motorsports driver Patrick Mulcahy completed an exceptional Solairus Aviation Pro-Am campaign with 15 class victories from 16 races. Having already secured the championship, Mulcahy entered the Austin weekend undefeated through the opening 14 rounds.

That streak ended on Saturday when James Sofronas returned to the series following an early-season injury and won the class for GMG Racing. Sofronas, making his first appearance since the season opener, started from class pole and secured his ninth career Porsche Carrera Cup North America victory. Mulcahy finished second, while Kellymoss driver Steve Wetterau completed the class podium.

Mulcahy responded on Sunday with another victory in his No. 54 ACI Motorsports Porsche 911 Cup. Starting second in class, he moved into the lead after opening-lap contact involving Cook and Metni also forced Sofronas off track.

Mulcahy finished 11th overall and more than four seconds ahead of Sofronas, who recovered to second in class. The victory completed a 15-win championship season for the Texas-born driver, who now lives in Southern California.

Scott Blind Sweeps Masters Races at Circuit of the Americas

Ruckus Racing’s Scott Blind won both Solairus Aviation Masters races at Circuit of the Americas, adding to his earlier victory at the Miami Grand Prix in May. The results gave Blind a sweep of the three Carrera Cup races held during Formula One Grand Prix weekends in 2026.

Blind started Saturday’s race from class pole in the No. 45 Porsche 911 Cup and secured his third Masters victory of the season. He avoided the restart incident that eliminated Matt Smith, Kyle Washington and Marco Cirone, with JTR Motorsports Engineering’s Rob Walker also escaping the collision. Blind led every lap of Sunday’s Masters race after again starting from class pole. Walker closed rapidly on the final lap, reducing the winning margin to approximately three-tenths of a second.

Despite Blind’s successful weekend, ACI Motorsports driver Marco Cirone had already secured the season-long Masters championship. Cirone did not start Sunday’s race following his involvement in Saturday’s multi-car incident.

TOPP Racing Secures Consecutive Entrant Championships

Maxson’s nine victories and Pro drivers’ championship were central to TOPP Racing’s successful title defense. Teammate Cole Kleck also contributed to the team’s campaign and finished the season as Rookie of the Year.

The Austin finale confirmed TOPP Racing as the Porsche Carrera Cup North America entrant champion for the second consecutive season. ACI Motorsports also concluded the year with two drivers’ championships, courtesy of Mulcahy in Pro-Am and Cirone in Masters.
