Current Porsche Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo – Ultimate Guide

The 2025 Taycan Turbo S Cross Turismo isn’t just Porsche’s most powerful electric wagon; it’s the most powerful production Porsche, period. With up to 938 horsepower on tap, a new level of chassis sophistication, and a serious focus on charging speed and driving refinement, this is the all-weather, all-terrain EV that still drives like a sports car.

Like every Taycan in the refreshed 2025 lineup, the Turbo S Cross Turismo gets a long list of performance and tech upgrades. But as the flagship, this version pushes those changes to their limits. Power is up by 140 kilowatts (roughly 188 hp) compared to the previous model when using Launch Control, bringing total output to 700 kW (or 938 hp) and 819 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to send this long-roof electric car from zero to 60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, making it the quickest production Porsche ever sold.

It’s not just the sprint time that’s shocking, but how consistent and accessible the performance feels. Thanks to revised thermal management and the latest version of Porsche’s pulse inverter, the Turbo S can hit hard repeatedly, with less power drop-off during spirited driving. The new push-to-pass function, standard with the Sport Chrono package, adds a 10-second jolt of extra power when activated through the steering wheel mode switch or paddle. It’s simple to use and adds an extra layer of engagement, particularly during overtakes or short straights.

Charging performance has also leaped forward. Like other updated Taycan models, the Turbo S Cross Turismo now supports up to 320 kW charging at 800-volt stations. Under optimal conditions, a 10 to 80 percent charge can be achieved in just 18 minutes, even with the larger 105 kWh Performance Battery Plus. A standard 150 kW DC/DC converter ensures stronger compatibility with 400-volt charging stations, which are still common at many public sites.

For a car with such wild performance numbers, the ride quality is remarkably civilized. Adaptive air suspension is standard, but the Turbo S also offers the new Porsche Active Ride suspension system as an option. This setup uses advanced hydraulics to maintain a level body during hard cornering, braking, or acceleration and even helps smooth out uneven roads by actively distributing wheel load. It’s one of the biggest contributors to the car’s dual nature; it’s a high-speed hammer when you want it to be and a comfortable touring car when you don’t.

The Cross Turismo format gives the Taycan Turbo S a more adventurous edge. There’s added ground clearance compared to the sedan and an available Off-Road Design Package that adds extra protection and visual flair. While most owners probably won’t take this car trail-hopping, it’s perfectly suited to handle winter conditions, gravel roads, or poor weather with ease, thanks to standard all-wheel drive and the heightened ride stance.

Visually, the Turbo S now gets the Turbonite treatment, Porsche’s signature dark metallic finish that highlights trim pieces, badging, and interior details. This finish helps distinguish Turbo and Turbo S models from the rest of the lineup, especially when paired with new exterior paint options like Pale Blue Metallic and Slate Grey Neo. The front and rear fascias have been subtly reshaped, the headlights are slimmer and more aggressive, and the taillight bar now integrates a glass-look Porsche logo, available with optional animation for entry and exit.

Inside, the cabin blends performance and luxury with a few subtle nods to the car’s flagship status. The updated infotainment system includes better Apple CarPlay integration and a new in-car video function for streaming content while parked. A redesigned control layout improves the logic of the instrument cluster and touchscreen menus, and the multifunction control stalk on the left side of the steering column now handles most of the car’s driver assistance settings more intuitively.

Standard features include ambient lighting, a heated GT steering wheel with a drive mode switch, wireless phone charging, dual charging ports (one on each side), and upgraded climate control. Seating options range from traditional leather to Porsche’s new sustainable, non-leather interior featuring Race-Tex microfiber and Pepita-pattern fabric. This option, offered at no cost for the Turbo S, blends Porsche heritage with a modern, eco-conscious twist.

Functionality remains a key reason to choose the Cross Turismo body. The sloping roofline is still sleek, but it opens up more rear headroom than the sedan, while the hatchback design provides easier access to the cargo area. Fold the seats down, and you have enough space for everything from skis and duffels to camera gear or a week’s worth of luggage.

The result is a car that doesn’t ask you to compromise. You get Porsche’s fastest-ever electric drivetrain in a body that can tackle everyday life with ease, regardless of weather, road condition, or cargo load.

Press Release

Listicle: Porsche Taycan Turbo S

Porsche’s all-electric Taycan sports saloon has been given a significant update. It now features a sharper look, the latest generation driver experience aids, more power, increased range, quicker charging and faster acceleration.

Featured here is the Taycan Turbo S model. Turbo variants now boast a more significant visual difference to the other models in the range, including the Turbonite crest on the bonnet.

What is it?

Launched in 2019, Taycan was the first fully-electric Porsche sports car.

It redefined EV performance cars with its modular battery cells that allowed it to sit lower and give the same sporty driving position as the 911 Coupe.

Taycan was also the first production car to use 800 volt technology, which enables faster recharging.

What’s new?

This is the first model update for Taycan. It has received upgrades to its chassis, drivetrain, software, interior and exterior while shedding up to 15kg.

Exterior

This Taycan Turbo S wears a new violet colour called ‘Provence’ that is named after the region in Southern France and its spectacular lavender fields.

It also features 21-inch RS Spyder Design Wheels with Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and a Turbonite SportDesign Package.

New for 2025 are revised front guards with flatter headlights to emphasise width. It also includes Porsche’s four-point daytime light signature and new tail lights including the Porsche logo in the rear strip as a three-dimensional, glass-look design.

Interior

The Turbo S features Smooth-Finish Leather in Bramble with Exclusive Manufaktur highlights including the Porsche Crest on headrests, and aluminium pedals.

Surround View with Active Parking Support and a Burnmester 3D high-end surround sound system are also included.

Because this Taycan Turbo S has the Sport Chrono package and the Performance Battery Plus, it also has the push-to-pass button on the steering wheel-mounted mode switch.

Drivetrain

A permanently excited synchronous electric motor sits on each of the front and rear axle, and is therefore all-wheel drive. It features a two-speed transmission for quicker acceleration and better long-range efficiency.

A new push-to-pass button provides 70 kW boost for 10 seconds, giving the Turbo S an extra 140 kW when used with Launch Control.

Stats

Performance: 0-100 km/h in 2.4 seconds / 260 km/h top speed

Power: 700 kW (952 PS) *

Torque: 1,110 Nm

Range: Up to 630 km WLTP *

Battery: 105 kWh, 800 volts

10-80% Charge: Approx 18 minutes

Driving experience

The low profile and centre of gravity of the Taycan gives it a similar feel to the 911 when you sit behind the wheel. The cornering characteristics and acceleration both make this car an amazing performance sports sedan.

The two-speed transmission adds to its sportscar feel as it shifts into high gear on the motorways for better range and slips back down a notch for tight corners and mountain passes for better acceleration.

Porsche’s Active Ride active-suspension also does a great job filtering out road imperfections, speed humps and limits body movement by actively compensating to further enhance driving dynamics and performance. Moreover, it has additional comfort funcations, as it even lifts the car while parked to allow for easier entry and exit for driver and passengers.
