Velocity at Sonoma Raceway: Porsche Among Giants

Sonoma Raceway | May 29–31, 2026. Before a single Porsche turned a wheel in anger, Sonoma Raceway was already buzzing. The 2026 Velocity Invitational, held May 29–31 along the undulating hills of Northern California’s wine country, is one of the most diverse and demanding automotive stages on the planet. Pre-war Ragtime Racers, Le Mans prototypes, historic NASCAR stockers, Formula DRIFT machines, and some of the world’s rarest hypercars, including the Porsche 918 Spyder, Ferrari 250 GTO, Bugatti Chiron, and McLaren F1, all shared the same paddock and the same stretch of asphalt across three days. Against that extraordinary backdrop, Porsche didn’t just show up. It dominated.

Parked next to the Porsche Sprint Challenge tent, a Porsche 962 sits on display at Sonoma Raceway during Velocity Invitational 2026.

Familiar Ground, Familiar Winners

If the Velocity Invitational crowd expected drama and controversy at the top of the running order, the Sprint Challenge USA West had a different message: excellence tends to repeat itself.
