2002-2006 Porsche Cayenne Service Schedule

This maintenance service schedule checklist is ONLY for the following Porsche models and years:

  • 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006 Porsche Cayenne V6, S, Turbo and Turbo S (9PA 955)

Minor Maintenance Checklist (after 20,000, 60,000, 100,000, 140,000 miles / 30,000, 90,000, 150,000, 210,000 kms) or 2, 6, 10, etc.. years:

  • Diagnosis system: Read out fault memory; reset maintenance interval
  • Underside of vehicle and engine compartment: Visual inspection for leaks (oil and fluids)
  • Engine compartment: Visual inspection for damage
  • Underbody covers: Visual inspection, check that all are securely fastened – replace any damaged or missing panels
  • Change engine oil and oil filter (Except Cayenne V6 which is 10,000 miles/15,000 km)
  • Air filter/s: Check the air filter condition, and if necessary, replace
  • Check drive belt
  • Coolant hoses: Check condition
  • Radiators and air intakes: Visual inspection for exterior debris and blockage
  • Coolant: Check level and antifreeze protection level
  • Brake system: Visual inspection of the brake pads and brake discs for signs of wear
  • Brake hoses and lines: Visual inspection for damage, correct routing and corrosion Check brake fluid level
  • Axle shafts: Visual inspection of the dust boots for leaks & signs of damage
  • Drive shafts: Visual inspection of the sleeves (dust boots M.Y. ‘03) for leaks & signs of damage (M.Y. ‘03 also check center bearing for damage)
  • Check tightness of bolts on the suspension adjustment system at the front and rear (only applies to the first service)
  • Tires, external spare wheel: Check condition and tire pressure
  • Check firewall body drains for debris
  • Panorama roof: Adapt control module
  • Windshield wiper/washer system, headlight washer: Check function, fluid level, nozzle adjustment, and antifreeze protection level, check wiper blades
  • Vehicle lighting: Check operation
  • All headlights: Check adjustment
  • Horn: Check operation
  • Batteries and ventilation hoses: Check condition
  • Electrical equipment as well as indicator and warning lights: Check operation

Additional Major Maintenance Checklist (after 40,000, 80,000, 120,000, 160,000 miles / 60,000, 120,000, 180,000, 240,000 kms) or 4, 8, 12 etc.. years:

  • Pollen filter: Replace filter element
  • Steering gear: Visual inspection of the dust boots for signs of damage
  • Tie rod ends: Check play and dust boots
  • Power steering: Check fluid level
  • Fuel system lines and connections: Visual inspection
  • Parking brake: Check free play
  • Axle joints: Check play; visual inspection of the dust boots for signs of damage
  • Hydraulically detachable off-road sway bar: Check fluid level and function
  • Exhaust system: Visual inspection for leaks and signs of damage; check mounts
  • Lubricate door latch and fastening bolts
  • Check wiper blades
  • Seat belts: Check operation and condition
  • Trailer coupling: Check operation
  • Airbag system: Check operation and condition (see additional maintenance below)

Additional Maintenance – Replace Spark Plugs

  • Replace spark plugs: Cayenne every 40,000 miles / 60,000 km or 4 years
  • Replace spark plugs: Cayenne S every 60,000 miles / 90,000 km or 4 years
  • Replace spark plugs: Cayenne Turbo every 40,000 miles / 60,000 km or 4 years

Additional Maintenance every 80,000 miles / 120,000 km or 4 years
Note: Air filter element/s should be changed more often dependent on vehicle use and operation in dusty environments.

  • Air filter element/s (1 or 2 dependent on options)

Additional Maintenance every 160,000 miles / 240,000 km or 16 years

  • Change front differential oil
  • Change rear differential drive oil
  • Change transfer case oil
  • Change manual transmission oil
  • Change Tiptronic transmission oil and ATF filter

Additional Maintenance every 2 years

  • Change brake fluid

Additional Maintenance every 4 years

  • Replace tire sealant

Additional Maintenance every 4 years – then every 2 years

  • Check battery for tire pressure monitoring system

Additional Maintenance after 10 years – then every 2 years

  • Airbag system: Check operation and condition

Road Test Check

  • Check operation of remote control, front seats, foot brake and parking brake (also operating travel), engine, clutch, steering, transmission, ParkAssist, automatic speed control, PSM switches, heater, air-conditioning system and instruments.
  • Inspect for oils and, fluids leaks
