When Porsche puts wings on its cars, it’s never for show — but how much downforce is too much? To find out, carwow lined up three of Stuttgart’s finest — the GT3 RS, the GT3, and the GT3 Touring — for an old-fashioned quarter-mile drag race.
Powered by a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, the GT3 RS produces 525 horsepower and 465 Nm of torque sent to the rear wheels through a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox with launch control. At 1,450 kg, it’s the lightest of the bunch and, unsurprisingly, the most expensive.

The GT3 keeps things purist: a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six with 510 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, again paired to Porsche’s sublime seven-speed PDK and launch control. Weight: 1,479 kg.

Mechanically identical to the GT3, the Touring drops the big wing for a subtler silhouette — same 510 hp, same 450 Nm, but slightly lighter at 1,477 kg. Think of it as the gentleman’s GT3, the stealth bomber of track weapons.

The question: Do those massive aero kits make the RS faster, or just slower due to drag? Watch the video to find out how this drag race unfolded on the strip.
