Founder

Olaf Manthey—a German professional race car driver—founded the company, Manthey Racing GmbH in 1996. Prior to this, Manthey had already established himself as a successful driver in a variety of German racing series, winning two Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) races, along with victories in the Ford Super Cup, in the early-to-mid 1980s.
