FOR SALE: 2023 Porsche 911 Sport Classic

One of the 1,250 examples produced

Unveiled during the 997 era, Porsche’s original 911 Sport Classic was designed as a tribute to the brand’s heritage and classic 911 models. Production was limited to just 250 units, none of which were certified for the US market. Strong interest from American buyers quickly highlighted that oversight, prompting Porsche to revisit the idea with the later 992-generation Sport Classic.

Staying true to the original formula, the 992 Sport Classic stands out with its signature ducktail rear spoiler and wide rear fenders. Unlike the earlier 997-based version, which was derived from the naturally aspirated Carrera GTS, the 992 model takes performance further by adopting the 911 Turbo’s twin-turbocharged 3.7-liter flat-six.

Rated at 543 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque, the engine is paired with rear-wheel drive and a manual transmission, rather than the Turbo’s all-wheel-drive PDK setup. While it shares the Turbo’s wide rear bodywork, it omits the side air intakes for a cleaner, more classic look. Retro touches include gold exterior badges, green instrument dials, and wood dashboard trim.

One of the 1,250 examples produced globally—number 697—is currently listed on Bring a Trailer. It’s finished in Aetna Blue paint-to-sample and features a Cognac Heritage leather interior with Pepita cloth inserts. The car rides on Turbo Exclusive Design wheels and is equipped with PCCB ceramic brakes, adaptive suspension, and rear-wheel steering.

Inspired by the iconic 1970s Carrera RS 2.7, the Sport Classic blends modern Turbo S underpinnings with classic styling cues such as Fuchs-style wheels, lightweight glass, a carbon-fiber double-bubble roof, heritage badging, and a full suite of modern driver aids and parking technology.
