Regarded as the ultimate road-focused evolution of the 911, the Porsche GT2 RS has represented the pinnacle of the marque’s rear-wheel-drive performance engineering since the nameplate returned in 2011. Introduced for the 2018 model year on the 991 generation, the GT2 RS established itself as the most powerful production 911 Porsche had ever built, combining motorsport-derived technology with extraordinary real-world capability.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter flat-six producing 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque, paired with a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission and Porsche Torque Vectoring limited-slip differential. The result is a 0-60 mph sprint in just 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. In 2017, Porsche development driver Lars Kern demonstrated the car’s potential by setting a Nürburgring Nordschleife production-car lap record in a GT2 RS equipped with the Weissach Package.
Now listed on Bring a Trailer, this exceptionally preserved 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS has traveled only 593 miles and stands out with its rare custom-order Viola Purple Metallic finish. Originally carrying an MSRP of $348,340, the car was extensively optioned, including the sought-after $18,000 Weissach Package, lightweight 20- and 21-inch magnesium center-lock wheels, LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System, the Front Axle Lift System, Sport Chrono Package, extended-range fuel tank, and a Bose surround sound system.
Weight reduction was central to the GT2 RS program, with extensive use of carbon fiber for the hood, roof, mirrors, side air intakes, front fender vents, rear wing, and engine cover. The Weissach Package further trims mass by incorporating carbon-fiber anti-roll bars and roof panel, while aerodynamic enhancements such as a deeper front fascia, underbody diffuser, and NACA ducts improve downforce and brake cooling.
Inside, carbon-fiber full bucket seats are upholstered in black leather with distinctive purple and white inserts, complemented by Platinum Grey stitching and Weissach RS embroidery. Carbon-fiber trim accents the cabin, which also features Porsche Communication Management with navigation, illuminated carbon-fiber door sills, cruise control, and a fire extinguisher.
