FOR SALE: 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS

Number 438 of just 500 examples produced

Listed for sale on Bring a Trailer, this 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS is chassis No. 438 of just 500 examples produced, representing one of the most extreme road-going 911s ever built. Conceived to reclaim Porsche’s dominance at the Nürburgring, the GT2 RS was engineered to surpass the lap time of the legendary Porsche Carrera GT using a 911-based platform. It succeeded emphatically, recording a remarkable 7-minute, 18-second lap around the Nürburgring Nordschleife and establishing itself as one of the fastest production cars of its era.

Porsche’s formula was straightforward: increase power and remove weight. At its heart lies a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six producing 620 horsepower, developed to a specification closely related to the engine architecture used in Porsche’s Le Mans-winning GT1 racing program. Extensive weight-saving measures reduced curb weight to approximately 3,050 pounds.

The all-wheel-drive system was removed in favor of rear-wheel drive, the rear seats were deleted, and lightweight sport seats were fitted in their place. The result is a car defined by its raw, uncompromising character. Stripped of AWD security and with minimal electronic intervention compared to modern supercars, the GT2 RS demands real driver skill—rewarding precision while earning a reputation as both revered and genuinely intimidating.

This example is finished in GT Silver Metallic and showcases the model’s signature lightweight construction, including a carbon-fiber hood, carbon-fiber side air intakes, carbon-fiber exterior trim, titanium exhaust outlets, aluminum door skins, and the distinctive GT2 RS hood decal replacing the traditional Porsche crest. The factory 19-inch center-lock GT2 RS wheels were originally finished in silver but have since been refinished in black. Standard equipment includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB).

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in Black leather and Alcantara with contrasting Red Alcantara accents. Adaptive Sport Seats, carbon-fiber interior trim, lightweight carpeting, and the deletion of the rear seats underscore the car’s performance-focused mission. Additional features include the Sport Chrono Package Plus, Sound Package Plus, Porsche Communication Management (PCM) with navigation, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel features red and black trim with a contrasting center marker and sits ahead of a gauge cluster highlighted by a 350-km/h speedometer and a centrally mounted tachometer.
