Based in Huntington Beach, California, Gunther Werks is known for transforming air-cooled Porsche 911s into what the brand’s 993 might resemble had its development continued into the modern era. Carbon fiber is extensively integrated into both the chassis and body structure, complemented by a tailored suspension system featuring DGR computer-controlled active coilovers, revised suspension geometry, stiffer anti-roll bars, lightweight uprights, and a hydraulic front-lift setup.
Powertrains are reworked by Rothsport Road and Race, where the original 3.6-liter flat-six is expanded to 4.0 liters and fitted with forged internals, individual throttle bodies, MoTec engine management, and race-grade hardware. The result is more than 430 horsepower and 330 lb-ft of torque, sent through a strengthened Getrag G50 six-speed transaxle.
The Speedster version employs advanced carbon reinforcement to deliver twice the stiffness of a standard 993 coupe despite its open-top design. Limited to just 25 cars, this 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera—known as the “Gin Tree” Speedster and listed for sale on Bring a Trailer—is the first customer-delivered example, finished in Gin Tree Green with a carbon body, bespoke interior, upgraded brakes, and widened-track suspension.
Exterior details include a carbon windshield frame, billet nickel mirrors and door handles, dual roll hoops, a carbon ducktail, bi-LED headlights, LED taillights, mesh grilles, yellow Porsche graphics, yellow Brembo calipers, and 18-inch two-piece forged magnesium wheels with titanium hardware.
Inside, the tailored two-seat cabin features green leather on the door caps, lower dashboard, and center console, while the carbon-fiber bucket seats are upholstered in multi-tone green leather and Alcantara with yellow leather accents. The rear bulkhead wears exposed carbon fiber with “Launch Edition” branding, echoed by a matching badge on the dashboard, while the rear seats have been removed entirely.
Exposed carbon fiber is visible throughout, joined by a slotted forged aluminum passenger footrest and pedals, green leather floor mats, leather and Alcantara door pulls, yellow seatbelts, automatic climate control, a milled aluminum shifter, and a Porsche Classic Radio.
