FOR SALE: 2005 Porsche Carrera GT SC

The first SPORT CANEPA example

A landmark example of Porsche’s analog supercar era has received an extensive mechanical and aesthetic transformation through Canepa’s SPORT CANEPA program. Listed for sale on Classic Motors For Sale, this 2005 Porsche Carrera GT SPORT CANEPA is the first commission of its kind, designated No. 001. Combining the original car’s motorsport-derived engineering with bespoke finishes and specialist-developed upgrades, it offers a distinct interpretation of one of Porsche’s most celebrated modern classics. The asking price is available upon request.

Originally finished in GT Silver, the Carrera GT has been refinished in a bespoke Liquid Metal Green developed by Canepa in collaboration with PPG. The carbon-fiber body panels were removed for the paintwork, while selected components received contrasting matte finishes to create a cohesive appearance. The engine cradle was refinished in matte carbon fiber, the headlight bezels and exhaust tips were painted gloss black, and the factory wheels received Canepa’s Titanium matte coating.

The cabin has undergone an equally comprehensive redesign. Cafe Latte leather combines with color-matched Alcantara across the dashboard, door panels and steering wheel, while perforated leather seats and Porsche square-weave carpet inserts introduce a more tailored finish. A quilted leather cover replaces the original fabric covering in the front luggage compartment. Titanium door-sill plaques bearing Bruce Canepa’s signature identify the car as SPORT CANEPA No. 001.

Power comes from Porsche’s naturally aspirated 5.7-liter V10, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive. Rather than replacing the car’s defining powertrain, the SPORT CANEPA conversion focuses on improving drivability, serviceability and performance.

Carrera GT specialist Repasi Motorwerks handled the mechanical development, installing revised camshafts, an upgraded steel multi-plate clutch assembly and enhanced carbon-ceramic brakes. A coilover suspension system incorporates a four-wheel lift function, raising the body by approximately 1.5 inches to improve clearance over steep approaches. The bespoke sport exhaust is claimed to add more than 40 horsepower while reducing weight by approximately 50 pounds compared with the original system.

The project also included an extensive engine-out service, addressing seals, sensors, cooling-system components, the power-steering system, belts, spark plugs and transmission fluid. Four new Michelin tires complete the mechanical work. Completed in March 2026, the car was unveiled at the Amelia Concours before becoming publicly available. The listing records 2,497 original miles, with just 39 miles accumulated since completion.
