FOR SALE: 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo

Offered with 8,951 miles on the odometer since new

Listed for sale on PCARMARKET, this 1997 Porsche 911 Turbo represents one of the defining evolutions of the air-cooled 911. The 993-generation Turbo combined Porsche’s final development of the air-cooled flat-six with twin turbochargers, all-wheel drive, and substantially revised chassis technology, creating a performance formula that was both faster and more composed than its predecessors.

Introduced for the 1996 model year as the flagship of the 911 range, the 993 Turbo also marked a significant visual departure from earlier generations. Its smoother bodywork replaced the traditional upright-headlight appearance with a more integrated design, while widened front and rear fenders and a fixed body-color rear spoiler gave the Turbo a distinctly muscular stance.

This example is finished in its original Guards Red paint over black leather. The exterior reportedly received paint correction under current ownership before being protected with full-body paint protection film. Additional equipment includes headlamp washers, fog lights, heated power mirrors, an electric sunroof, rear wiper, and 18-inch Technology hollow-spoke wheels with Turbo center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. Red Porsche-branded calipers provide a visual reminder of its considerable braking hardware.

Inside, the black leather cabin features power-adjustable front seats, a four-spoke leather steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, central locking, an onboard computer, and analog VDO instrumentation. A Porsche Classic Communication Management head unit has been installed, adding Apple CarPlay connectivity while retaining a factory-oriented appearance.

Power comes from Porsche’s twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter flat-six, rated from the factory at 400 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. The engine drives through a six-speed manual transaxle and all-wheel-drive system with a limited-slip differential. A multi-link rear suspension, Automatic Brake Differential, and four-piston fixed calipers over 322mm cross-drilled discs complete the performance package.

Current ownership has added a Fabspeed Supercup exhaust, with the original exhaust included. Extensive maintenance performed by Patrick Motorsports in 2024 included replacement of oil return lines, spark plugs, distributor rotors, ignition wires, belts, filters, intake hoses, and hood shocks, along with corrosion repair in the battery box.

As one of the final air-cooled Turbo 911s, the 993 Turbo occupies a significant place in Porsche’s performance lineage, pairing classic mechanical character with the technological advances that would define the modern 911.
