Most young boys have done it at one time or another, and if you love sports cars, you’ve probably been there too. Your bedroom walls were the perfect place to start a collection of pin-ups, and like many other teenage car enthusiasts, my walls were plastered with posters of Lamborghinis, Porsches, Jaguars, and all the rest. Alright, so in between there were a few sporting heroes and maybe a couple of girls, but cars definitely dominated. It’s what young boys dream about, right? However, pretty pictures don’t tell the whole story about the technical wizardry that lies beneath those curvaceous bodies, but do you really care at that young age? Nah, that’s something to worry about when you’re older.

But what was the Porsche 959, if it wasn’t the most sophisticated, high-tech performance sports car of its era? It’s hard to know where to start when writing about a car like the Porsche 959, because for its time, it was just so advanced, leagues ahead of its rivals, and just packed with innovation and technology.
