Currently listed on Bring a Trailer, this meticulously reimagined 1990 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Coupe represents one of the latest bespoke creations from Singer Vehicle Design. Completed in April 2024 for its current owner, the build exemplifies Singer’s obsessive approach to engineering, craftsmanship, and reinterpretation of the 964-generation Porsche platform.
Founded in Los Angeles in 2009 by former Catherine Wheel frontman Rob Dickinson, Singer has become globally recognized for transforming classic air-cooled 964-generation 911s into highly individualized, performance-focused machines.
As with all Singer commissions, the donor chassis was stripped to its bare steel monocoque before undergoing extensive reinforcement and integration of lightweight carbon-fiber bodywork. Panels including the fenders, bumpers, hood, rear decklid, and roof were replaced with carbon-fiber components, while black textured urethane accents were applied to the lower aerodynamic elements.
Dubbed the “It Was All a Dream” commission, this example wears a striking paint-to-sample Bright Purple Light Pearl finish accented by subtle ghosted side stripes and bronze detailing. A paint protection film is also applied to the car.
Inside, the cabin showcases an extraordinary mix of Dove leather, plum upholstery, and bespoke woven inserts extending across the seats, dashboard, and door panels. Carbon-fiber bucket seats, bronze-finished accents, and carefully selected materials elevate the interior into a handcrafted luxury environment.
Beneath the rear decklid sits a rebuilt naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six equipped with high-lift camshafts, an Emtron ECU, and a ceramic-coated intake plenum. Power is routed exclusively to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential, delivering the visceral analog driving character that defines Singer’s celebrated restorations.
Additional highlights include bi-xenon lighting, a retractable rear spoiler, nickel-plated bumperettes, and forged 17-inch Fuchs-style wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Suspension duties are managed by adjustable Öhlins coilovers, while carbon-ceramic brakes with Brembo calipers provide formidable stopping power.
