FOR SALE: 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera Targa Conversion by Kaege Retro

Signature backdated Targa conversion by Kaege Retro

Currently listed on Bring a Trailer, this 1998 Porsche 911 Carrera Cabriolet underwent a comprehensive transformation by Kaege Retro in 2022. Utilizing a Cabriolet shell as the foundation for its signature backdated Targa interpretation, Kaege reengineered the car with extensive carbon-fiber bodywork, finished in Light Green Metallic and protected by a clear paint protection film.

The exterior integrates retro-inspired LED lighting within classic housings, revised indicator assemblies, and functional elements such as headlight washers, fog lamps, power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-deployable rear spoiler, a carbon-fiber front splitter, and centrally mounted dual exhaust outlets.

It rides on 18-inch three-piece Cookie Cutter-style wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires, measuring 225/40 front and 285/30 rear. Handling is sharpened by KW V3 adjustable coilovers, while braking is managed by cross-drilled rotors paired with body-color calipers at each corner.

Inside, the cabin reflects a meticulous blend of heritage and modern craftsmanship. Highlights include Kaege-branded VDO gauges, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and Recaro Sportster CS seats upholstered in Mushroom Brown leather with woven inserts.

A black leather-trimmed dashboard and rear parcel shelf complement the aesthetic, while features such as a Porsche Classic-style digital infotainment system, aluminum pedals, carbon-fiber shift elements, a CTEK maintainer, cruise control, and air conditioning ensure usability.

Power comes from a rebuilt 3.8-liter air-cooled flat-six, upgraded with a carbon-fiber VarioRam intake and installed during the build. The engine is paired with an overhauled six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential, delivering power to the rear wheels. Carbon-fiber underbody panels further enhance aerodynamic efficiency and structural refinement.
