This Carrera GT Could Be the Most Expensive of Its Kind Ever Sold

One of just 19 PTS Carrera GTs delivered to North America

This 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, offered without reserve at Broad Arrow Auctions’ Amelia Auction 2026, is estimated at $6 million to $7 million. It is the only U.S.-delivered example finished in Paint to Sample Gulf Blue over Ascot Brown leather, making it one of just 19 PTS Carrera GTs supplied to North America.

The Carrera GT originated from a shelved racing project that used a Formula One–derived V10 engine. When Porsche canceled its LMP program, the exotic powerplant found new life in this analog supercar, which entered production in 2003. Designed with minimal electronic aids, a six-speed manual transmission, and a naturally aspirated V10, the Carrera GT quickly became one of the most celebrated driver-focused machines of its era.

This example, numbered 0555, was delivered new with XT bucket seats, air conditioning, and a Porsche Online Pro CD radio. It retains its original window sticker, manuals, luggage set, and accessories, and has had just three owners since new. It has only 2,807 miles on the odometer and remains exceptionally well preserved and recently received the factory APA3 suspension recall along with new Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires.

Given its one-of-one U.S. specification, iconic Gulf Blue heritage color, low mileage, and complete documentation, this car has the potential to set a record for the model at auction. The current record for the most expensive Carrera GT have already crossed the $3 million mark, but the combination of rarity and condition here could push bidding beyond expectations—possibly making it the most expensive Carrera GT ever sold publicly.
